Mark Twain Whittier, Lt Commander and the men of Air Squadron VC-97 put
together this Farewell Book and presented it to Austin H.Wheelock, Captain
of the USS Shipley Bay (CVE-85) on June 30, 1945. This small book
has a green felt cover and contains photographs of crew members, squadron
aircraft and a final farewell letter to the "Skipper". |
