| Bruce
Muench began his US Navy service in 1944 as a Aviation Radioman.
In 1945 he was briefly attached to the USS Shipley Bay (CVE-85). After
World War II, he attended Michigan State University and received his B.S in Zoology and Botany.
In 2002 Bruce published his book titled
"Spam Cans, Rice Balls and Pearls". In Chapter-7 titled "Aboard
the Shipley Bay", Bruce provides a unique look at life aboard
