Aero-Nautique Models custom built the first museum quality model of the USS Shipley Bay
(CVE-85). This museum quality model was completed on November 13, 2012.
The Sales Team, Master Ship Model Builders and Artists at Aero-Nautique
Models are an exceptional organization to partner with. They
provided a complete compliment of Air Squadron VC-97
aircraft with the distinctive 'Fishhook' insignia on each tail.
The ships Commissioning Pennant was also custom designed and can now be
seen flying above the American Flag. This important detail provides
a link to the original Commissioning Pennant that flew during the Battle
of Okinawa.
Collaboration throughout this important project was
outstanding. Project milestone photographs
were provided after each major step in the process allowing feedback to
insure all objectives were met. A final set of
completion photographs was sent prior to shipping. Expectations
were not only met but exceeded and we are grateful to the Aero-Nautique
Models Team.
Aero-Nautique Models has been producing the
worlds finest collection of hand crafted model aircraft, ships, vehicles
and plaques for over 15 years. Visit the Aero-Nautique Models
website for information on how to obtain one of their custom built models.
Please pass along your thoughts regarding their contribution to preserving
this important chapter in American history.
